The Grand Junction Challenger baseball team is headed to the big game.

Challenger Baseball began with only 10 players in 1999. But, now more than 80 players make up this amazing project. For those of you who are not familiar with the Challenger program here is a direct quote from their website:

Challenger Baseball is a non-profit division of little league baseball whose purpose is to give mentally challenged and disabled children a chance to participate in America's favorite sport. In doing so, children have a chance to learn teamwork, leadership, and responsibility, as well as building lifelong friendships.

The Little League World Series in Pennsylvania have invited our own Grand Junction Challenger team to play in a special exhibition game in front of their largest audience and on the biggest stage yet. ESPN.

This historic game is fast approaching. Saturday, August 27 at 8:30 p.m. is the first pitch. Luckily ESPN is making it available to the Western Slope on their streaming service Watch ESPN.
