The Grand Junction Police Department is seeking information about an auto theft from a local gas station.

Crime Stoppers of Mesa County reports that just before 11 p.m. on Sunday, July 15, police responded to an auto theft in progress at the Maverick Gas Station at 2902 D Road.

The victim went inside the store to make a purchase and when they came out of the store, their vehicle was gone. The stolen vehicle is a gold 2014 Jeep Cherokee (VIN - 1C4RJFBGXEC148566) with a ski rack and tinted windows. The vehicle is estimated to be worth approximately $20,000.

Video from the store shows a man getting out of a white Chevrolet Silverado parked at the gas pumps. The man started into the store, then turned around, left the store, climbed into the Jeep and drove away.
