Almost everyone has a favorite superhero, characters from comic books or movies and Mesa County Libraries 'Comic Con' is the place for those fans to gather.

The Library Comic Con is a great way to have fun with comic books, comic art, pop culture, science fiction, fantasy, anime, manga books, graphic novels, and movies. In other words, this event is a comic lover's dream party.

The Second Annual Mesa County Libraries Comic Con is October 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Central Library at 5th Street and Grand Avenue. The event is free and attendees are encouraged to dress up as their favorite character.

Not only will you have a chance to meet and mingle with fellow comic lovers, there will also be activities for all ages including an awesome panel discussion.

Some of the seminars, events, and activities include:

  • Intro to Cosplay Worksop with Shadowfall Workshop
  • 501st Legion Meet and Greet
  • Panel of Geek Gurus
  • Costume Contest and Parade
  • Fandom Meetups on the Patio
  • Story Time
  • Face Painting
  • Drawing with the Pros

The inaugural Comic Con in 2015 drew more than 1,600 people and the Library staff anticipates this year's event will be even bigger. The Mesa County Libraries can give you the details about all that's Library Comic Con 2016.
