Good luck getting you vehicle in for a windshield replacement or a body shop anytime in the next few weeks. Colorado's Front Range was hammered severely when a hailstorm rolled through Monday afternoon.

Friends of mine from the Front Range have been sending photos showing the damage to their vehicles. In one case, a friend sent a photo of an example of yesterday's hail.

The freak storm ultimately closed Lakewood Mall. According to The Denver Post, the largest recorded piece of hail came in at 2 3/4 inches in diameter.

Former Grand Junction resident Dave Guerrie, who now lives in Denver, sent this photo of a singular piece of hail. Fortunately, in Dave's case, his employer allows him to park his Trailblazer SS in his office.

I remember complaining last year about the fact it was raining dirt here in Western Colorado. Yes, it rained red dirt and lots of it. At the time it seemed like a big deal. Perhaps it wasn't worth crying over. That problem was solved with a $5 trip through the car wash.

A friend of mine in Colorado Springs is still waiting to get her car into the body shop following a hail storm which hit that area a few months ago. Body shops and window replacement outlets are booked up for months.

When it comes to weather, we have it made on the Western Slope. Our thoughts go out to those on the Front Range.
