A Fort Collins, Colorado woman is making her case for equal rights between the sexes saying if men can be topless in public, women should be afforded the same rights.

Brittany Hoagland can be seen standing on the corner in Fort Collins wearing a bikini - and a sign covering her chest that says "Illegal to Remove."

According to "The Coloradoan", Hoagland is specifically protesting a city ordinance on public decency which refers to exposing the "breast or breasts of a female."  The protest comes before National Topless Day on August 23rd. Essentially, she says if men can legally go topless in public, women should be allowed to as well.

I am inclined to agree with her - in a twisted sort of way, and I've expressed my views on this previously. I agree, it should be the same for both men and women - absolutely. But, I would suggest the solution is not giving women the green light to go topless like the men, but rather prohibiting men to be topless, the same as is mandated of women in most communities. Maybe I'm the only one, but I hate seeing a man without a shirt in public.

But, the real question is, do women WANT to go topless in public? Is this woman in Fort Collins speaking for a majority of women?? Or is she speaking for a small minority?

I can't imagine that most women want to go topless in public. In fact, I think it's likely a small number. But, then again, I never for a minute thought a majority of Colorado voters would support the legalization of recreational marijuana, so maybe I will be surprised again.

So, let the women speak. Take the poll below and let us know what you think about being topless. At least we'll get a bead on what Western Colorado women want.
