Five people were arrested Wednesday night after the Western Colorado Drug Task Force and the Grand Junction Police Department Street Crimes Unit searched a residence at 2828 Orchard Avenue in Grand Junction.

Christine Tate | 36 Years Old

Grand Junction Police Department

Arrested and booked on charges of:

  • Two Counts of Possession of a Schedule I/II Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute
  • Possession and Intent to Distribute within 1000 Feet of a School or Public Housing
  • Child Abuse/Criminal negligence
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Kayla Strawn | 30 Years Old

Grand Junction Police Department

Was located in the apartment and booked into the Mesa County Jail on the following charges:

  • Possession of a Schedule I/II Controlled Substance
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Timothy Tyler | 37 Years Old

Grand Junction Police Department

A quarterly required registered sex offender, was arrested and booked with:

  • Four counts of Possession of a Schedule I/II Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute
  • Possession of a Schdule III/IV/V Controlled Substance
  • Three Counts of Child Abuse/Criminal Negligence
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Possession and Intent to Distribute within 1000 Feet of a School or  Public Housing.

Melody Mayfield | 57 Years Old

Grand Junction Police Department

Arrested and booked with following:

  • Possession of a Schedule I/II Controlled Substance
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Kenneth Jennings | 53 Years Old

Grand Junction Police Department

Also arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I/II Controlled Substance
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Police say the seized drugs included methamphetamine, heroin and Alprazolam and they say some of the drugs and drug paraphernalia items were easily accessible to children in the apartment; including Strawn's daughter.
