FBI Child ID App Keeps Critical Information at Your Fingertips

No one wants to have their child in danger. But, danger is out there and now there's an app available that ensures parents can give authorities the critical information they need in an emergency.

The FBI Child ID App allows parents faced with the emotions of dealing with a missing child a way to give authorities key information so they can search for your child without you having to worry if you forgot an important detail.

The free app lets parents enter information including name, height, weight, hair and eye color and other features unique to your child. You can also upload a photo of your child.

The app also makes it easy to update information so parents can always have a current profile of their child on hand.

The mobile app, currently only available for iPhones, can be downloaded from the App Store on iTunes.  The FBI is in the process of making the app available for other mobile devices. No information about you or your child is collected by the FBI or iTunes.

The app also gives parents tips on keeping their child safe. In the event something does happen, the app provides detailed instructions about the critical things to do when a child is missing.
