Grand Junction Police has made arrests in a case involving Theft and Crimes Against An At-Risk Adult, thanks to leads from their Facebook page.

On October 8, 2015, the Grand Junction Police Department posted pictures to their Facebook page featuring images of suspects sought in the theft of an elderly woman's purse from the North Avenue Wal-Mart.

Two days later, an individual contacted dispatch claiming to know the identity of the two suspects featured on the GJPD's Facebook page. The caller provided the names of both suspects.

The following day, officers responded to a verbal disturbance in the 2800 block of Elm Avenue. Police conducted a traffic stop involving the vehicle described in the disturbance. The occupants of the vehicle were Eric Lively (4/29/80) and Kassandra Ortiz (1/27/92). The officers recognized Ortiz as the one of the suspects sought in the theft.

Following comparisons of both Lively and Ortiz to the photos taken from surveillance cameras at Wal-Mart, police identified them as the suspects being sought in the theft.

Lively and Ortiz have been arrested and remanded to the Mesa County Jail on charges of Theft and Crimes Against an At-Risk Adult.

Via their Facebook page, the Grand Junction Police Department congratulates the citizens of Grand Junction, and thanks them for monitoring their Facebook page.
