The CMU Music Department will present two weekends of workshops and concerts for instrumental students.

On Saturday, February 7th, master classes will be offered for students of single reed instruments including saxophone and clarinet. Students of all levels are welcome and registration and clinics are free of charge. Students will attend clinics as well as perform in a single reed choir concert. Guest artists Tom Hess, clarinet, and Grand Junction Saxophone Quartet (including JoEllen Foutz, Travis Swanson, Krystin Tatum and Jun Watabe) will conduct the master classes and will present a concert at 4:00 pm in the Moss Performing Arts Center Recital Hall, which will be free and open to the public.

Then, on Saturday, February 20th and 21st, CMU will host String Day for high school students who play any stringed instrument. The event will begin with a performance and master class by the Apollo Quartet. Participants in String Day will perform in a concert that is free and open to the public at 4:00 pm on Saturday the 21st in the Carolyn Love Recital Hall.
