Regardless if you're a novice or seasoned hunter, this elk hunting seminar will give you a better chance of having meat in the freezer this season.

The seminar, offered by Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) and Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, still has space available for their Elk Hunting 101 Seminar on Wednesday, August 17.

The seminar will be held at the Grand Junction Parks and Wildlife Hunter Education Center in Grand Junction from 6p.m. until  p.m.

Topics covered in the seminar are elk biology, forage preference, migration, calling techniques, necessary equipment, and the importance of proper field dressing after the kill.

The seminar is part of the CPW  Hunter Outreach Program which helps teach hunters the "knowledge, skill, ethics and traditions of hunting."

Registration is required and interested hunters can register online or call 970-255-6181 for more information about this and other seminars offered as part of the Hunter Outreach Program.
