8-Year-Old Girl Suspended For Trying to Smoke Pot

An 8-year-old girl trying to smoke pot in a school bathroom has been suspended for three days.

According to USA Today, the young girl was caught trying to ignite a plastic bag containing marijuana and was unsuccessful in her efforts to smoke it. Upon being discovered, the girl reportedly threw some of the pot in the toilet and some in the trash.

Initially, the girl was suspended for 10 days, but the punishment was reduced to three days. Authorities in Pataskala, Ohio are trying to determine exactly how the girl obtained the weed.

Currently, there are 23 states that have laws legalizing marijuana in some form, Ohio is not one of them. And, even if pot was legal there, it would not be okay for an 8-year-old. But, yet, it's something  parents have to worry about. An 8-year-old! Are you kidding me?

Once again we have evidence that demonstrates the problems of legalizing marijuana. Stoned driving and under-age use are just two of the issues that will be forever on-going as the nation moves closer and closer to nationwide acceptance of pot in society. We say we are concerned about our children, but our actions are singing a different tune.
