Dumb and Dumber 2: I’m saying there’s a chance…

Dumb and Dumber fans!! There is still hope!!

When we first heard there would be Dumb and Dumber 2, with Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels reprising their classic roles as Harry and Lloyd, it almost seemed too good to be true...eighteen years later a sequel to a classic movie featuring it's two main original characters. But, it wasn't long ago that Jim Carrey backed out and it seemed the idea was dead in the water. But, wait! All hope is not lost!

Crave Online caught up with Jeff Daniels at the Television Critics Association after his ‘Newsroom’ panel to get the latest on ‘Dumb and Dumber 2," and he remains hopeful and optimistic, saying:

“Jim wants to do it. I want to do it. The Farrellys want to do it. They want to rewrite the script a little bit and they aren’t trying to jam it in before I have to go back and do ‘Newsroom’ in November. So they’re going, ‘Why don’t we just do it right? Let’s get everybody organized to go next May or June.’ If everything works out on the business side, that’s what we’ll do but I think there’s more hope than ever.”

Personally, I don't remember when the last time was that I had such anticipation for a movie sequel. All of us who are hopelessly addicted to watching Dumb and Dumber over and over and over again will be waiting with baited breath to see if this project will actually move forward. Whether or not the magic of the orginal can be re-captured, only time will tell. But, for now, I'm sayin' there's a chance.
