Students at Delta, Montrose, Olathe schools and students attending other schools in those districts will be headed back to class on Tuesday (February 24) after a winter storm cancelled classes Monday.

The school districts affected by the closure have been working with area road departments to monitor school bus routes and other roads to ensure they are safe.

Montrose and Olathe Schools say classes are expected to start on time, but will continue to monitor road and weather conditions and delay start, if necessary.

District officials urge parents to make sure their children are appropriately dressed for winter weather in the event buses are delayed due to road conditions along the route.

The districts also ask parents who feel the roads in their area are not safe for travel, to notify their child's school so they are aware of the situation and possible absence.

The National Weather Service says there's still a chance of snow overnight, but additional accumulation in most areas is expected to be minimal.
