As the deer ran erratically around the store, the only casualty was a six-pack of beer a customer abandoned when he ran out of the store.

It's not as if the owners or clerk at the liquor store would have sold the deer anything. It forgot it's ID and was finally convinced to leave. Luckily for the store's owners, the deer exited through the doors instead of another window.
