Custom Bicycle Theft is Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week

Generally, people consider their valuables safe if they're locked up inside. For one Grand Junction resident, that precaution didn't keep a thief from breaking in and stealing an expensive mountain bike.

The stolen bicycle is a gray Santa Cruz 'Tallboy' mountain bike with the serial number 2915138. The bike has custom parts and ENVE black rims with white lettering.While the exact value is not known, these type of bikes are typically worth several thousand dollars.

The bicycle was stolen from a locked garage in the 400 block of Gunnison Avenue sometime between July 9 and July 11.
