Cranium Kruncher: Five Seconds Is a Long Time

Five seconds is not a long time, but it seems like a long time when you are doing this. The average American does this for 5 seconds. What is it?

Well, the answer is not yawning, or sneezing, or texting. Actually, they tell us we should do this longer than we do. The answer is washing our hands. How long do YOU wash your hands? Sit there for a moment and imagine yourself washing your hands. Turn on the faucet, grab the soap, start the timer. Five seconds? 10 seconds? More? I have to confess, when I did this little exercise it seemed like I'm a five second guy. Maybe it's because I'm into water conservation.
