Cranium Kruncher: $39 Billion and Nothing to Show For It

When we spend money, most of use like to have something to show for it. It seems amazing that Americans spend over $39 billion on this one thing each year, but, after spending the money have nothing to show for it. There’s no price tag on it. Nice people spend the most. No, it’s not charitable contributions, or gift cards, or flowers. What could it possibly be?

The answer, of course, is tipping. Whether it’s at a restaurant, hotel,bar, airport, or hair salon, tipping has become a huge expense in our every day lives. The only way to cut out the expense it would seem is to never visit those establishments. Good luck with that!
