Construction Underway On Walmart’s New Neighborhood Market in Grand Junction

If you haven't been down the I-70 Business Loop lately, you are likely to be surprised when you drive by the construction project underway on Walmart's new Neighborhood Market.

The new construction is located off of I-70B, between 31 and 31-1/2 roads, right in front of Central High School, and it seems to be moving right along.

Compared to regular Walmart stores, the building looks small -- and comparatively is it. At just over 42,000 square feet, the market will be about half the size of a regular Walmart - and significantly smaller than a Supercenter, which could be around 220,000 square feet.

The store, featuring groceries, pharmacy services, and "everyday goods," should be open before the end of the year, according to KJCT 8.
