Normally, when you think of death from things that can kill, you think of poisons, or overdoses of prescription or illicit drugs. But, there are a lot of common things that can also kill you.

If you're one of those skeptics that believe everything holds the potential of causing death, you're partly right. However, it's important to keep in mind the quantities of these things needed to cause death are, in the most part, astronomical.

Still, it's interesting to know how the substances we consume, or are exposed to, on an everyday basis, have the potential to be fatal. Water, which makes up a large part of the human body, is a great example of where not enough and too much can both be quite dangerous.

Knowing that common things can prove deadly proves the saying, 'everything in moderation,' is most likely an absolute truth.
