A  650 pound Colorado pig named "Lucky" is getting a new lease on life after falling off of a trailer on to I-25 in Northern Colorado.

According to the Huffington Post, "Lucky" got his name after falling off a trailer and being picked up by Weld County police. The pig's owner couldn't be located and so the big was given to Erin Brinkley-Burgardt, owner of Hog Haven Farm.

The farm apparently cares mainly for pot-bellied pigs which were bought as pets, but then abandoned by their owners.

So, instead of ending up as a side order of sausage with somebody's waffles and eggs, Lucky will live out his days at the facility east of Denver. It's expected that Lucky could live as long as 13 years in captivity.
