Colorado Travelers Thankful for Promising Thanksgiving Weekend Weather Forecast

Motorists will be taking to the roads this week for the Thanksgiving holiday and the weather man has great news in store for Colorado travelers.

AAA projects more than 46 million Americans will travel more than 50 miles this week to celebrate Thanksgiving - the highest volume of traffic predicted since 2007. A large part of that is due to the fact that gas prices are at a five-year low.

Unfortunately, not all holiday travelers will make it home safely. Last year, 3 motorists died on Colorado roads on Thanksgiving Day - all three related to alcohol. The last time the state didn't have an alcohol-related fatality on Thanksgiving Day was 2009.

The good news for Colorado travelers is that the weather for the holiday period -- Wednesday through Sunday -- is expected to be exceptionally nice statewide with lots of sunshine and minimal snow fall. nThis should help facilitate safe holiday travel.
