A lot of people would love to live in or near the Rocky Mountains, but finding a decent job in one of the states in the region can be difficult, especially if you're just starting a career.

According to a survey by WalletHub, Colorado is the best state for starting a career in the Rocky Mountain region. Three of the best Colorado cities for employment are Denver (4), Aurora (18) and Colorado Springs (40).

If you're really anxious to get your career off the ground, Texas is the best place to start. Four of the top five career starter cities are in the Lone Star state. Coincidentally, Denver, Colo. was the only city not in Texas to crack the top five.

Other cities in neighboring states that made the list include Salt Lake City, Utah (12) and Albuquerque, New Mexico (87).

The study took into account several different factors in determining the strength of career opportunities in the cities included in the survey.
