The Colorado Mesa Mavericks women's basketball team looks to stay perfect when they take on the New Mexico schools at Brownson Arena. The Mavs are 21-0 on the season and have won 32 consecutive games at home, dating back to January of 2012.

The Mavericks are coming off road wins this past weekend over Chadron State and Black Hills State, escaping Spearfish, South Dakota with a 4 point win over the Yellow Jackets.

The 2nd ranked Mavericks are still one of only two Division II teams in the country that remain unbeaten, and hold a three game lead over CSU Pueblo in the conference standings. The Mavs have already clinched a spot in the RMAC Tournament.

The Mavericks beat New Mexico Highlands earlier this season 81-70 down in Las Vegas, and narrowly defeated Western New Mexico 57-51, the only time this season the Mavs have scored fewer than 66 points. The Cowgirls and the Mustangs are teams are currently tied for 9th place in the conference standings and are trying desperately to get into the top eight and make the RMAC tournament. With much on the line, we expect both games this weekend to be hard-fought.

Senior Sharaya  Selsor, of Glenwood Springs, continues to lead the conference in scoring at nearly 25 points a game, and this weekend should move into CMU's top ten all-time scoring list.

Meanwhile, the Maverick men sit in 8th place in the conference standings, one game ahead of New Mexico Highlands,a team they beat earlier in the season 82-61.

Games begin at 5:30 Friday and Saturday with men's action to follow. Listen to the games on the radio on ESPN Radio 1230 or on line at 1230ESPN.com.
