The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference on Thursday released its preseason golf polls, with both of Colorado Mesa University’s teams ranking in the top ten.

CMU’s women’s team was picked to finish second behind Colorado State-Pueblo. Rounding out the top five are Western New Mexico, Metro State, and Regis.

The Lady Mavericks will return four starters from last season’s team, including All-RMAC performer Sara Swaney.

Colorado Mesa’s men’s golf team was picked to finish sixth. The top five picks in the men’s preseason poll were Western New Mexico. University of Colorado-Colorado Springs, Colorado State-Pueblo, Colorado Christian and Colorado Mines.

The Colorado Mesa women will open their season on September 15 in Denver, while the men open their season on the same day at the Ryan Palmer Invitational in Amarillo, Texas.
