It was definitely an offensive game Saturday in Spearfish, S.D., as Colorado Mesa University’s football team defeated Black Hills State 48-31.

D.J. Hubbard opened the scoring with a six-yard touchdown in the first quarter. In his first career start for Colorado Mesa, Andrew Cota threw three touchdown passes and ran for two more. Ian Juede caught eight passes for 80 yards, and Daniel Perse led CMU with 88 receiving yards on four catches.

CMU’s 48 points were the most that the Mavericks have scored so far this season in one game.

Next game for Colorado Mesa is next Saturday (October 11) when the Mavericks host New Mexico Highlands at Stocker Stadium in Grand Junction, Colorado. The game can be heard on ESPN Radio 1230 AM, the home of CMU athletics, and online at 1230 ESPN.com.
