It took 10 innings to do it, but Colorado Mesa University won their first game in the NCAA Division II World Series in Cary, N.C.

The Mavericks defeated Saint Thomas Aquinas 5-4 Sunday by scoring the winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning.

CMU now advances in the winner’s bracket of the tournament and face Seton Hill University on Tuesday. Seton Hill won their game Sunday 4-2 against Minnesota State-Mankato.

Tuesday’s game between CMU and Seton Hill will begin at 5:00 p.m. MDT.
