In light of recent election results and court rulings regarding things like the legalization of recreational pot and same sex marriage, it shouldn't come as a surprise to learn that Colorado is one of the least religious states in the country.

The folks at Motvoto conducted a study to determine the most and least religious states in the country.

Using information from the 2010 Census, they compiled information on things like the number of people who consider themselves religious, places of worship per capita, percentage of people who attend church, and the percentage of people who "like" prayer on Facebook.

Some of the states that ended up in the  top 10 as the most religious states isn't surprising.

Mississippi and Alabama were at the top of the list, while traditional Bible-belt states like Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Tennessee finished in the top 10.

At the bottom of the list -- the least religious states in the country -- is Nevada coming in dead last. Just ahead of Nevada is Arizona, Oregon, California, Washington, and New Hampshire.

Colorado comes in at #44 on the list of  most religious states -- only six states are less religious.

Do you think these findings are accurate? Is there truly a significant difference between the states?

Do you think our country - and our state - is less religious than it used to be?
