Colorado Among Worst States for First-Time Home Buyers
People sure seem to love living in Colorado, but it apparently is far from the ideal place for first-time home buyers.
According to statistics compiled by BankRate.com, Colorado is in the bottom 10 states in the country for new home owners.
Data collected for the study included housing affordability, job market for young adults, housing market tightness, credit availability, and home ownership among millennials. However, when you look at the top 10 states compared to the bottom 10, you can see a clear distinction.
BEST 10 STATES
WORST 10 STATES
It is clear from these lists that first-time home buyers have the least chance of success in the most attractive locations and the best chance of home ownership in the least desirable states. That's not to say that you could never own a home in one of the "desirable" states, but you may have to "pay your dues" in one of the "undesirable" locals first.
