The Colorado Mesa University Mavericks women's basketball team has earned a #4 seed in the NCAA South Central Region Tournament.

The Mavericks (23-5) will take on #5 Arkansas-Forth Smith (20-8) in the quarterfinals of the regional tournament, hosted by #1 seed West Texas A & M in Canyon, Texas.

The Mavericks, who fell to CSU-Pueblo 61-51 in the semi-finals of the RMAC Shootout on Friday, were unlikely to get the #1 seed in the region even had they won the RMAC Shootout championship. The Mavs fell victim to a very poor shooting first half against the Thunderwolves and were unable to mount a second half comeback, halting their 52 game home winning streak.

The Mavs make their third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance under third-year Head Coach Taylor Wagner.

Colorado Christian University won their first ever RMAC Shootout title Saturday night by beating CSU-Pueblo at Brownson Arena and earned the #6 seed at the regional. The Cougars(18-3) will play the #3 seed Midwestern State (23-6)

UC Colorado Springs(24-6) received the #2 seed and will play RMAC rival CSU Pueblo (18-11), while #1 seed West Texas A & M(27-2) will play #8 Cameron(15-11).

ESPN Radio 1230 will have complete coverage of all CMU Mavericks game at the South Central Regional Tournament.
