There are a lot of panhandlers around Grand Junction, Colorado. This is what the Police Department in Cheyenne, Wyoming has to say about their panhandlers. Do you agree?

"Yesterday, July 22, we arrested a transient for public intoxication. This is a person we frequently deal with, but we want to illustrate that there are better ways to help the transient population than to give them money for panhandling. This person collected $234.94 in just a few hours of asking for money. Rather than feeding someone's alcohol addiction, you can donate directly to local charities such as the Comea Shelter where your money will assist the homeless in a much more effective way."

This statement was from the Cheyenne Police Department's Facebook. The fact that the individual made over 200 dollars in a few hours is very upsetting. I can work for eight to twelve hours in a day and I don't make this much.

There are multiple shelters around Grand Junction such as Homeward Bound, Salvation Army Day Center, Catholic Outreach and more. Some of these Grand Valley shelters even help with job placement. Do you agree with the Cheyenne Police Department? Do think your money would be more helpful and better spent going toward a shelter versus directly in the hands of a panhandler?
