Perhaps you've heard of it - Goat Yoga. Interested? You can check it out this week at the Mesa County Fair.

Seriously, Goat Yoga. What exactly is it? Well, it's pretty much just as it sounds. According to the Grand Junction Parks and Rec webpage:

Blending the relaxation and focus of yoga with the happy distraction of 12 little goats, brings together the sheer joy of the human/animal connection. This gentle yoga class, perfect for all levels, invites you to come as you are and allow yourself a unique experience. Goats are spontaneous and may snuggle on your mat, burp in your ear, and give you a hug.

Sound interesting? It should. The next class is coming up Friday morning, July 19, at the Mesa County Fair.

What do you need to do in order to participate in Goat Yoga? Here's a list of dos and don'ts:

Do:

  • Bring a yoga mat
  • Class fee is $20
  • Water will be provided

Don't:

  • No water bottles
  • No purses or bags
  • Keys and phones must be kept under the mat

It just so happens Goat Yoga has been going on at the Mesa County Fairgrounds for some time. Registration is underway and will continue through August 31. Classes will be held at the Mesa County Fairgrounds gazebo at 2785 Highway 50. Classes are $20 a pop.

Who can attend? Pretty much anyone ages 12 and up. Children 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Classes are open to men and women, and apparently, goats.
