This week in 1960 Chubby Checker reached the top of the charts with "The Twist"......and in the process started a whole new dance craze.

A little over a year later, 'The Twist" returned to the charts and zoomed back to #1, where it spent two weeks. Except for Bing Crosby's "White Christmas",  " The Twist" is the only record in history to re-enter the charts and return to the #1 position. It is interesting to note that the melody of "The Twist" is the same as "What'cha Gonna Do" by Clyde McPhatter & The Drifters from 1955.

Check out a very young Dick Clark and Chubby Checker below.
