After monsoon rains blew through the Durango area, the Durango & Silverton Railroad tracks were damaged by a mudslide. They look to reopen this weekend.
While the west slope is known for its blazing hot summer temperatures, the hottest temperature ever recorded in the state is far from western Colorado.
Not that this is necessarily a 'normal' summer in western Colorado, but based upon historical patterns we can expect more rain and less wind as we pass through the month of July.
