Mavs Take Second, Head To NCAA Regional As #2 Seed

The Colorado Mesa University Mavericks went 3-2 in the RMAC Tournament over the weekend in Grand Junction losing in the championship game to CSU-Pueblo 7-5. The Mavericks still managed to capture the second seed in the South Cenral Regional this week in Kingsville, Texas.

Mavs Drop RMAC Opener

It didn't matter that the CMU Mavericks had beaten Colorado Mines 7 out of 8 times this season, or that they had just swept a four game series from them this past weekend. On Thursday night the only thing that mattered was that Mines' freshmen pitcher Christian Rooney entered the game in the second inning and shut out the Mavericks the rest of the way to give #6 Mines an unexpected 6-4 over the RMAC Tournament's #1 seed.

(POSTPONED) RMAC Baseball Tournament Begins Today At Suplizio

The Colorado Mesa University Mavericks have just completed their most dominating RMAC season ever going 35-3 in conference play and winning the regular season title. Now the teams that have been dominated all season by the Mavericks are in Grand Junction for the RMAC Tournament, playing for the right to advance to the NCAA Regional Tournament next week. (Due to the rainy weather, the start of the tournament has been postponed until Thursday. The start times of all the games will remain the same)

Everything is clicking for the CMU baseball Mavericks this season. With two weekends left in the regular season, the Mavericks have already clinched the RMAC regular season title, for the second consecutive year, and the 6th time in the last 8 years. This week they moved up to #3 in the national rankings, and, now the Mavericks sit at #1 in the first Central Region Rankings of the season.

#4 Ranked CMU Lady Mavericks Are Now 17-0

The CMU Lady Maverick's basketball team, ranked nationally for week 8 at #4 in the USA Today/WBCA poll, improved their record to 17-0 this weekend. The CMU Men's basketball team also swept the weekend and improved to 13-4.
