"West Side Story" takes place in New York City in the summer of 1957 and is a modern telling of the classic Shakespearean play "Romero and Juliet". The musical explores the rivalry between the Jets and the Sharks, two teenage street gangs of different ethnic backgrounds. The members of the Sharks from Puerto Rico are taunted by the Jets, a Polish-American gang. Tony, one of the Jets, falls in love with Maria, the sister of Bernardo, the leader of the Sharks. With music by  Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, this dark musical tragedy has been entertaining audiences since it opened on September 28, 1957 when it enjoyed a 732 show run.

If you have ever dreamed of being on the stage entertaining others, here is your chance, no experience necessary. You can be a part of this great show here in western Colorado. Get your audition packet filled out and hit the stage to sing your heart out to get the part of your favorite character.
