When the Denver Broncos take the field for Super Bowl XLVIII, they will be adorned in their familiar orange jerseys, which should make Broncos fans delighted. The Broncos record this year in orange is 9-1.

It's the AFC's turn to be designated the home team, which explains why the Broncos get to wear their bright orange jerseys. That would seem to be good news for Broncos' fans, considering their team's success this season in orange.

However, on second look, it may not be such good news based on history. In three of Denver's four consecutive Super Bowl losses they were wearing orange. In 1998 when they beat  the Green Bay Packers for their first Super Bowl win they were wearing blue, and the following year wore white in the win over the Atlanta Falcons.

Personally, I love the orange uniforms and I am glad they'll be in orange for the big game, despite the lack of corresponding success in past Super Bowl encounters.

It's not the most pleasant of memories, but here's a quick recap of the 'Big Orange' loss to the Redskins in Super Bowl XII.
