Montrose car lovers and many from other places around the Western Slope are glad the forecast for Saturday (June 4) is sunny. That way they can enjoy a beautiful day at the annual Colorful Colorado Car Truck and Rod Show.

This is the 21st year of the car show, which is held at the Columbine Middle School Field. Every year the show benefits a local organization, and this year's proceeds will be donated to the Delta-Montrose Partners Mentoring program.

Gates for the show open at 8 a.m. with events throughout the day including a silent auction. The singing of the National Anthem along with the Black Canyon Classics scholarship award will be at Noon, and the car awards ceremony will take place at 2 p.m.

The car club offers a scholarship each year to a graduating high school student who is continuing their education in an automotive or technical field.

To wrap up the day, people are invited to a 'Back to the 60s Night' at the Star Drive-In beginning at 6:30 p.m.
