This weekend, music lovers across the nation will be celebrating the birthday of the Man in Black, Johnny Cash. Where can you go in Western Colorado to hear some live Johnny Cash music and kick your heels up with other fans?

Seriously, this is almost a national obsession. People all over the country go to great lengths to celebrate the Man in Black on his birthday. Well, his birthday is this Sunday, February 26. Since nobody is really keen on getting wacky on a Sunday night, what do you say we celebrate on Friday and Saturday?

A few years back, the Desert Flyer Band out of Grand Junction hosted a Johnny Cash birthday party on Main Street. The festivities included a black birthday cake courtesy of Homestyle Bakery.

Here's a list of Western Colorado bands who are big on Johnny Cash, and who will most definitely be breaking out some of his best songs this weekend. In no particular order....
