The weather in Grand Junction was less than pleasant for at least part of the week, but that didn't stop the Grand Junction Department from having their annual training.

According to the Grand Junction Police Department, each year, local officers go through a week of training to freshen up and sharpen their skills in things like defensive tactics, firearms training, and de-escalation skills among other things. Police officers also receive training on new legislation, policies, and procedures. This happened to be that particular week.

On Wednesday, officers happened to be at the range when the mini-blizzard hit the area. It did not stop them from continuing their training. That's great news, because you can never be sure that fighting crime and protecting local citizens will always happen under clear blue skies.

It's kind of like the mail man....through rain, or snow, wind, or rain....
