Are those swimming pools out at Country Jam, or are they giant ice chests for cold beverages?

I was out at the Jam Ranch this week assisting with preparations for the big festival. Some changes have taken place in the way the festival grounds are laid out, but, overall it still looks like a typical Jam -- with one exception. What in the world are those two large swimming pool-looking things in VIP?

Well, take a look and see what you think. It sure looks like swimming pools to me. I can picture music fans dipping in the pool, beverage in hand, and listening the "cool" way to some of their favorite music. What else could they be? Giant coolers? Blow-up bounce houses that haven't yet been blown up? Platforms for line dancing? Huge trampolines?

Considering how hot it typically is at the Jam Ranch in June, large pools for cooling off seem like a great idea. In addition to the great seats in front of the stage, V-I-P also means all you can eat and drink for four days. For many people, this is their vacation. They save up for this event - and make it the highlight of the year.

Speaking of the heat, western Colorado weather is expected to be in the 80s through Friday, and in the 90s for the weekend, so don't forget the sunscreen - and stay hydrated.
