The newest member of the Denver Zoo family is an adorable zebra who's already getting a lot of attention from both the zoo staff and visitors.

The new addition, named Bosley, was born on Thursday (October 8) and while still a bit wobbly, is charming everyone with his cute little stripes.

The zoo reports the young foal is doing so well he's already made his first public appearance.

While many visitors see Bosley as a cute little zebra, his birth is important in helping preserve an endangered species.

The young foal is a Grevy's Zebra, also known as an imperial zebra, which is the largest and also the most endangered of the three zebra species.

Here's a fun fact about Grevy's zebras. Gestation normally lasts 390 days. That means Bosley's mother, Farasi, has been pregnant for over a year.
