Taylor Colorado is basically a mountain playground. Taylor is surrounded by developed and primitive camp spots with unlimited outdoor options all around.

The drive is almost as beautiful as the destination, especially right now with fall colors. Don't rush the drive and admire the scenery around you. You pass Blue Mesa Lake, Black Canyon National Park and the last hour you are driving alongside a beautiful river.

The weather this time of year in Colorado is a little unpredictable. The above and below pictures were taken less than 24 hours apart. That's half the fun of road trips in Colorado, right?

Once you get to Taylor, there are countless outdoor activities available. Four wheeling, hiking, fishing, boating, and winter activities like snow-shoeing if the ground is white. The town has one restaurant, a convenient store, and a gas pump, making it a perfect town to escape to with just enough convenience for emergencies only.

**Tent camping this time of year is not recommended.
