The last time I was drinking the Detroit Kool Aid I ended up with it all over my face. For this week's Sure Fire Picks I'm pouring myself another glass in hopes of helping you with your Pro Football Pick'em Contest. Last week I was 3-1making my season record 18-5.

DETROIT over ATLANTA
The Lions have been doing it with defense. As soon as soon as a healthy Calvin Johnson returns to the line up and the offense catches up with the defense, this  could be a truly special year for Detroit fans. Meanwhile, it's beginning to look like another disappointing season for the Falcons, who need to win this game in the worst way. It feels like this one could be really close, but the edge goes to the Detroit defense.
My Prediction: Lions 28 | Falcons 24

KANSAS CITY over ST. LOUIS
The Chiefs have been hard to figure so far this year, but they have won three of four since losing to the Broncos, with the one loss coming against San Francisco. While I'm not drinking any Alex Smith Kool Aid, I do think Kansas City is the better team here. The Rams come off that shocking upset of Seattle --can they do it in back-to-back weeks? I think not. The Rams return to earth this week - and reality.
My Prediction: Chiefs 31 | Rams 21

INDIANAPOLIS over PITTSBURGH
This one makes me nervous because it's in Pittsburgh. But, the Colts are looking really good, while it seems like the Steelers are scratching and clawing to stay in the race in the AFC North, though they are just a game behind Baltimore. The Colts have won five in a row after an 0-2 start and absolutely mauled the Bengals last week. No mauling this week, but the Colts leave Pittsburgh with their 6th straight win.
My Prediction: Colts 24 | Steelers 17

SEATTLE over  CAROLINA

Things aren't going well in Seattle and a loss this week will have Seahawks fans hitting the panic button. They might want to keep that panic button handy because they have to travel across the country to face a hungry Panther team that got thumped last week by the Packers. I said last week the Seahawks wouldn't lose two in a row. They did. This week I'm saying they won't lose three in a row, but Carolina will make them sweat.
My Prediction: Seahawks 28 | Panthers 24
