8-year-old Nadine Hairston was minding her own business on a field trip at Lawrence Hall of Science when she felt a sharp pain in her leg. Nadine had been shot with a crossbow arrow. She was rushed to the hospital where doctors surgically removed the 2-foot-long crossbow arrow. Authorities are investigating where the wayward arrow came from, speculating that a small-game hunter or a reckless sportsman in the area could be responsible.

Think about how freaked out the teacher was, when kids ran up to him saying, “Nadine has been shot with an arrow.” Here you are on a field trip then you have to call a kids parent and tell them their little girl has been shot with an arrow.
